I believe that these are the most comfortable boots that I've ever purchased. If you are looking for chic and structured boots, these are NOT for you. These have a rubber flexible sole and are made of very soft leather that requires absolutely no break in period. I ran errands and stood in line to vote with these on and felt no pain whatsoever. As I said these are not perfectly structured and chic. These are boots that are made for getting down to business and being up on your feet. The shaft is a bit big on me because I have tiny calves but I think they would fit the average size calf. The calves are roomy but they don't look terrible. The ankles can look a bit baggy but its because this leather moves with you when you walk it is not stiff at all and that's why I like them.

I like these boots for the most part. They feel high quality and like they will last me several falls and winters. The heel fits a little loose in part due to to the fact that the zipper is on the back. The zipper also bulges out a tiny bit at the heel - not a big deal and I don't think anyone else will actually notice. I have 15" calves and these boots fit perfectly snug around my calves. I think someone with slightly bigger calves would still fit in these since there is a large elastic patch. However, the elastic is very stiff and tight and probably only gives about an extra inch. These are comfortable and don't take much breaking in. Contrary to other reviews, my boots do stand up on their own and the leather is soft but not flimsy. Nice purchase, especially if you catch them on sale :)

I already have this boot in black. Wanted the cognac. Recvd the boots in a timely fashion. However, there were black spots on both the R and L boot. One black spot (that was not removable with a boot buffer) was right on the front of the boot. Sadly had to return. Hopefully, the replacement will be OK! I hope so because the boot is great!
