4Beautiful Boot But A Tight Fit
By DKSATH
First, be aware that even though these are listed as "wide calf", the actual circumference width will change depending on your shoe size. A size 6, for example, might have a 16 inch circumference, and a size 9 could be over 17. Also keep in mind that the circumference measurement is for the part at the very top, widest part of the boot.

For reference: I am an 8.5 or 9, depending on the shoe, and I almost always wear a regular width, but my feet do tend towards the wide side. I ordered these boots in an 8.5 and found them quite tight. I could get my feet into them with difficulty, but it wasn't ideal. I'd therefore say that if you are in between sizes like me, opt for the larger size with these boots. I could have easily gone for a 9 or even a 9 wide, I believe (and would have if Amazon had them available!).

The calf on these: Very narrow. My calf measurement is exactly 17inches. I measured the circumference on these boots and they are also exactly 17 inches. So they should have fit, right? Not quite. The mid-shaft of this boot is quite narrow, so I could only zip them up so far, despite the fact that at the top, widest part, of the boot, they fit my calf. To clarify, I think that if your lower leg is quite thin up to the calf muscle - and then a large, bulging calf, these will work for you. If, however, you have sturdy peasant legs that grow proportionally wider from ankle to calf I believe you will find that these will be difficult to zip beyond the mid shaft of your lower leg.

All of that said, these are beautiful boots! I ordered them in brown and they are gorgeous. But not a good fit for me.

5Stunning boot.....not wide enough though
By Coupongirl
This boot is just absolutely gorgeous! I love the color, the shape, the buckle on the side, everything. And the quality of the leather was so nice and beautiful, you can tell this is a nice expensive boot. Unfortunately I have wide calves and even though these are listed as wide calf boots, they simply didn't cut it for me. I measured and I have a 19" calf, I believe these are more for a 16" calf. Which to me isn't even a wide calf, I wish boot makers would start to understand that most women do not have stick legs. Please make more wide calf boots for us to choose from!

If these had fit I would have been over the moon......

I did find a different boot that worked though, just barely. Nine West Shizaw Wide Calf boot for any of the ladies out there who have a bigger calf like me.

4My search is finally over!
By believer033
After over a year of searching for knee high riding style boots that fit my calf and still look good, I can finally say I've found them! I normally wear between an 8.5 and 9M. I ordered the 9 and with socks they are fine in the width and only slightly long. I plan on adding a thin insert to help with length and to make the footbed softer. My calves measure 16" and these wide shaft boots fit perfectly even with skinny jeans tucked in. The ankle area is good, not too wide or slouchy so my ankle still looks small (which they are). I am 5'6" and they fall about an inch below my knee. The leather is vey nice and soft on the upper shaft however the foot area is a bit stiff and shiny/polished looking. I personally prefer a more distressed looking boot and these are not that but I do think they will scuff easily so that could work in my favor. Overall, I'm impressed with these brown Franco Sarto boots and can't wait for cooler weather!

**UPDATE**
January 7, 2013 - I've had these for 3 months. I wear them about 3 times per week. They have not really stretched out but they have become VERY comfortable. I am very pleased with them and how they are wearing. They have scuffed a bit but the scuffs actually give the boots a more distressed look, which as I mentioned in my previous review, is a good thing for me. You won't be disappointed. These really are very nice boots!!
